Biography
Turşucuzade Ahmet Muhtar Efendi (1823–1875) was an Ottoman writer whose literary works contributed to the intellectual life of nineteenth-century Istanbul. His writings reflected the cultural and social developments of the Tanzimat era.
Efendi's contributions to Ottoman letters remain part of the literary heritage of his time. He was interred in Karacaahmet Cemetery, one of Istanbul's most prominent burial grounds.
