Tyree H. Bell

Biography

Tyree H. Bell grew up near the Tennessee frontier and answered the call to arms when the country divided, rising through the ranks of the cavalry as a disciplined leader trusted for his steadiness in the field.

He served under generals such as Sterling Price and fought across the Western Theater before returning home to tend the land, take part in civic life, and rest now at Bethel Cemetery.
