Biography

Uri Ilan, born in 1935, served his country with courage as a member of the Israel Defense Forces, embodying the highest ideals of sacrifice and loyalty. His capture and tragic martyrdom during the 1954-55 conflict inspired generations to remember the cost of freedom.

Beyond his military service, Ilan was remembered as a thoughtful young man whose letters revealed a keen intellect and a gentle sense of humor, traits that render his loss all the more poignant. He rests now in Gan Samuel, honored by those who continue to learn from his example.
