Biography

Václav Brtník was born in 1898 and lived through the formative decades of the modern Czech state. His life encompassed the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic, the interwar period, the Second World War, and the postwar era that followed.

Brtník passed away in 1979 and was laid to rest in Břevnov Cemetery in Prague. His long life reflects the experiences of a Czech citizen who witnessed and lived through the major historical transformations of the twentieth century.
