Václav Pavlas (1888–1957) was a Czech resident whose life encompassed the final years of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the founding of Czechoslovakia, and the early Communist period. Born in 1888, he experienced the full arc of twentieth-century Central European history.
Pavlas passed away in 1957 and was laid to rest in the Cemetery in Podolí. His life represents the experiences of those who lived through the region's most transformative century.
