Biography

Václav Peča was born in 1883 and lived through nearly nine decades of dramatic change in Central Europe. He witnessed the final years of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the establishment of Czechoslovakia, and the subsequent upheavals that defined the twentieth century.

Peča passed away in 1971 at the advanced age of 88 and was laid to rest in the Cemetery in Sobotka. His exceptionally long life provided him with a unique perspective on nearly a century of history and the enduring character of Czech communities.
