Biography
Václav Pokorný (1884–1965) was an astronomer whose scientific interests contributed to the intellectual life of Czechoslovakia. His work reflected the broader tradition of scientific inquiry in Central Europe during the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
He was interred in Roudnice nad Labem cemetery, where his legacy as a scholar and observer of the heavens is commemorated.
