Biography
Valentin-Victor Carré was a military officer who served France during the latter half of the nineteenth century. Born in 1855, he came of age during a period of significant military and political change in French history, following the Franco-Prussian War and the establishment of the Third Republic.
Carré's military career was cut short by his death in 1885 at the age of thirty. He was interred in Père Lachaise Cemetery, where his grave stands as a memorial to his service to his nation.
