Biography

Van Perkins Winder was a Nashville resident whose life extended from 1809 to 1854. He lived during a pivotal period in American and Tennessee history, witnessing the continued development and establishment of Nashville as a significant city.

Winder's forty-five years of life placed him among Nashville's established residents of the mid-nineteenth century. He was buried in Nashville City Cemetery, where he remains part of the community's historical legacy.
