Restaurateur/Mixologist

Biography

Victor Jules Bergeron, Jr. turned his entrepreneurship and love of hospitality into the ever-growing Trader Vic's empire, popularizing tiki-inspired dining rooms and introducing the world to the Mai Tai and other signature cocktails. He treated every guest as family, blending exotic ingredients and showmanship with an exacting sense of service born of his early years in California.

Beyond the clink of glasses, Bergeron championed quality ingredients, supported charitable causes, and mentored hosts who followed him into the restaurant business; his legacy remains alive today in the warmth that still fills the tables he once tended while he lies at rest in Mountain View Cemetery.
