Biography
Viktor Gusev was a Soviet screenwriter whose creative work contributed to the development of cinema during the early Soviet period. His screenplays reflected the artistic ambitions of Soviet filmmaking in the 1930s and early 1940s.
Gusev's career was cut short by his death in 1944 during World War II. He remains remembered as part of the generation of Soviet screenwriters who worked during a formative period in the history of Soviet cinema. He was laid to rest in Novodevichy Cemetery, a final resting place for many notable figures in Russian culture and society.
