Biography

Vincenz Priessnitz (1799-1851) earned international acclaim as a physician who rediscovered the healing force of fresh water and the restorative rhythms of nature, founding the first hydropathy establishment in Jeseník with disciplined exercise, cold-water treatments, and modest farm routines.

He treated each visitor with simple humanity, believing that self-care and community support were twin pillars of recovery, and his remains rest in Jeseník where the springs continue to speak of his curiosity and compassion.
