Vira Brockway

Biography

Vira Brockway, born in 1856, kept the fires of friendship burning in the Mound area, organizing communal meals and lending a keen curiosity to every discussion she hosted.

She believed that a strong community began with listening, and that conviction still guides those who pass by her resting place in Mound Cemetery.
