Biography
Vladimir Ambartsumov was a priest (ierey) who served the spiritual needs of his community during the Soviet period. His religious vocation represented a commitment to faith during a time of increasing state hostility toward organized religion.
Ambartsumov was executed at the Butovo firing range in 1937, becoming one of many clergy members whose lives were claimed by the Great Purge's persecution of the Church.
