Biography
Vladimír Orel was born in 1901 in Brno, beginning his life in the waning years of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He lived through the establishment of Czechoslovakia, the interwar period, the devastation of World War II, and the subsequent communist transformation of his homeland.
