Biography
Wallace Duffield Wright won the Victoria Cross for courageous leadership during the Somaliland campaign, rallying troops under fire and exemplifying the valor expected of a British officer. His steady presence in the field steadied the men around him.
He later shared his experience with younger soldiers, encouraging them to uphold the highest traditions of the Army and supporting veterans’ causes with gentle humour.
