Biography
Walter Evans read law in Louisville, established a thriving practice, and moved from the Kentucky bar to the halls of the U.S. House, where he brought a steady temperament to the duties of representation before accepting a seat on the federal bench.
As a jurist, he presided over the district courts with a reputation for fairness, mentoring younger attorneys and taking a keen interest in the orderly administration of justice; he remained a respected figure in civic circles and now rests at Cave Hill Cemetery.
