Biography
Walter H. Taylor earned distinction as both a soldier and a lawyer, serving as a trusted aide to General Robert E. Lee and later as a devoted counselor to veterans and families. He recorded the words and deeds of officers for the benefit of future generations, ensuring that the experiences of his comrades would not fade with time.
When he passed in 1916 he left behind a reputation for fidelity, a commitment to preserving history, and lasting friendships that are honored still at Elmwood Cemetery.
