Walter Maddock

Biography

Walter Maddock, governor of North Dakota from 1928 to 1929, worked tirelessly for farmers and cooperative movements during troubled economic years, advocating for fairer markets and relief for struggling families. He also sought cooperative solutions and balanced budgets with empathy.

After leaving office he remained engaged in statewide affairs, offering experience and encouragement to civic groups and retaining a reputation for integrity now remembered at Memorial Park Cemetery. People who worked with him recall patient counsel.
