Walter Thys

Biography

Walter Thys devoted his life to scholarship and to the quiet art of teaching, guiding students at Ghent with a steady hand and a generous spirit. Colleagues and former pupils remember how his classrooms were places of thoughtful inquiry, where he encouraged each individual to find the joy of learning.
