Biography
Wilbur F. Sanders arrived in Montana Territory as a lawyer and quickly became one of its leading advocates for law and order, championing the rights of settlers and miners alike. His tireless work to bring respect for civil institutions helped shape the territory's progress toward statehood.
By the time he was elected to the United States Senate, Sanders had earned a reputation for integrity and for promoting infrastructure and education, leaving Forestvale Cemetery to hold the memory of a statesman dedicated to the public good.
