Biography

Wilhelm Grimm (1786–1859) was one of the renowned Grimm brothers, whose collection and scholarly study of German folk tales became foundational to European folklore and children's literature. Working alongside his brother Jacob, Wilhelm dedicated his life to preserving and documenting the cultural heritage of the German people through their famous fairy tale collections.

Beyond his celebrated work with folk narratives, Wilhelm was a respected philologist and literary scholar whose contributions extended to German language studies and cultural preservation. He was laid to rest in the Alter St.-Matthäus-Kirchhof in Berlin, honoring his status as one of Germany's most influential cultural figures of the 19th century.
