Biography
Willem Boelhouwer was born in 1914 and devoted his adult years to the Dutch resistance, working quietly in and around Rotterdam to shelter persecuted neighbours and relay information to the Allies.
He died in 1945 as Europe was emerging from conflict and is interred at Crooswijk General Cemetery, where visitors may honour the bravery he displayed in those darkest days.
