Biography
William A. Whittlesey lived a long life spanning seven decades of American development, from the early republic through the Civil War era. His longevity allowed him to witness tremendous change in his nation and community.
His memory is preserved at Mound Cemetery, a testament to his place in the community and the respect accorded to those who lived through the formative periods of American history.
