William B. Spencer

Biography

William B. Spencer practiced law in Louisiana before being elected to the U.S. House in 1877, where he advocated for the economic interests of his state and its riverside communities.

After leaving Congress he returned to legal work, remaining involved in civic affairs until his passing in 1882; he was laid to rest at Magnolia Cemetery.
