William Barbey

Biography

Engineer William Barbey applied his technical training to the study of Switzerland’s landscapes, surveying mountains and valleys with the foresight of a builder and the curiosity of a naturalist.

He later combined his engineering rigor with botanical research, publishing findings that enriched the country’s understanding of its flora.
