Biography

Major General William C. Lee devoted his life to the service of his country, earning a place in military history through his leadership of airborne forces. His vision and determination helped shape the U.S. Army's parachute infantry in the early years of World War II.

Even after retiring from active duty, he remained a sought-after mentor to younger officers, sharing the lessons of courage and resolve forged in training camps and battlefields. His final years were spent near Greenwood Cemetery, where fellow soldiers and friends pay their respects.
