Biography

William Cogswell, a physician turned soldier, answered the Union's call by leading troops through the trials of the Civil War and earning respect for both courage and care.

After the conflict he continued to serve his state as a congressman and advocate for veterans, and Harmony Grove Cemetery preserves the memory of his leadership.
