William Davenport

Biography

William Davenport was born in 1770 and lived through the American Revolution and the founding era of the United States. His nearly nine decades of life encompassed the nation's most formative periods.

Davenport's life concluded in 1859, and he was laid to rest at Fort Defiance Cemetery. He is remembered as one of the longest-lived members of his generation, having witnessed nearly a century of American history.
