Biography

William David Upshaw, born in 1866, served as a U.S. Representative and devoted himself to elevating the hopes and concerns of rural Americans, especially those in Georgia, during a period of nationwide change.

He carried his convictions about service and community into every phase of his life, and after his death in 1952 he was laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of earnest advocacy and public purpose.
