Biography
William Dudley Haywood stood at the forefront of labor struggles, co-founding the Industrial Workers of the World and championing industrial unionism across the United States. He traveled widely to organize workers and spoke passionately about solidarity and the rights of the working class.
Even as he faced persecution and exile, Haywood remained committed to the movement that sought dignity for laborers, and he is interred at the Haymarket Martyrs' Monument as a lasting testament to that dedication.
