Biography
William Farris Blayney was born in 1851 and carved out a place for himself as an energetic entrepreneur and civic supporter in North Selma, where he channeled his talents into building a business that served both families and local institutions. He never tired of encouraging youngsters to learn a trade and much valued the relationships he formed through daily commerce.
He died in 1899, and those who came to know him remember the warmth of his laughter and the generosity of his heart as they visit his grave at North Selma Cemetery.
