William Goode

Biography

William Goode, born in 1798 in Virginia, rose through the legal profession and the state legislature as a man of learning committed to his rural neighbors.

Serving several terms in the U.S. House, he defended Virginia's constitutional traditions while supporting prudent national improvements, retiring soon before his death in 1859.
