Biography
William Grainger Blount, son of Territorial Governor William Blount, brought his family’s deep convictions to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he championed the interests of Tennessee as the state found its footing in the Union.
After his congressional service he remained engaged with public affairs until his early death in 1827; he was interred in Paris City Cemetery, leaving a legacy of devotion to Tennessee’s growth.
