William Henry Grey

Biography

William Henry Grey, born in 1829, rose from the trials of slavery to become a respected church elder and political leader during Reconstruction, serving Arkansas in its legislature and speaking for equal rights.

When he died in 1888, Magnolia Cemetery became the place where the community honored a man who believed deeply in democratic opportunity for all.
