Biography

William Henry Hooper, born in 1813, lent his talents as a merchant and representative to the Territory of Utah, serving multiple terms as the territory's delegate to Congress and championing infrastructure such as the transcontinental telegraph.

He later applied his organizational gifts to banking and charitable enterprises, and his final rest beside other civic leaders in Salt Lake City Cemetery recalls his efforts to weave governance and commerce together for Utah's benefit.
