William Holwell Carr

Biography

William Holwell Carr (1750–1830) was a painter of skill and reputation during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His artistic endeavors contributed to the cultural life of his era, and his works reflected the aesthetic sensibilities of his time.

Carr enjoyed a long life spanning eight decades, witnessing the evolution of British art and society. He was laid to rest at the Church of St John In The Wilderness in Withycombe Raleigh, where his artistic legacy was remembered by his community.
