Biography

William Hosmer spent much of his adult life in the Fort Hill area, applying his talents to business and civic concerns during a century of rapid change in the young republic. Friends remembered him for the kindness he extended across generations and for the steady way he watched over community institutions, and his passing in 1889 left Fort Hill richer for his loyal friendship.
