William Mason

Biography

William Mason was born in 1786 and lived through the early decades of the republic, contributing to his community with perseverance and a practical mind. His neighbors respected him for the steady example he set during a lifetime of labor and quiet leadership.

When he died in 1860, he was honored with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery, where those who followed remembered his deep connection to the land and to the families he served.
