William Morgan (1774–1826) lived at a time when every citizen’s effort helped shape the community, and his life reflected the quiet fortitude cherished in Batavia. Though his occupation remains unrecorded, his participation in the life of the town helped keep its traditions alive.

His place of rest in Batavia Cemetery is a reminder of the many unsung residents whose steady presence sustained their neighbors during the nation’s early years.
