Biography
William O. Head, born and raised in Kentucky, rose to prominence as an attorney and public servant before being elected mayor of Louisville in 1909; he approached the position with a belief that thoughtful governance and civic responsibility could help the city thrive.
After leaving office he continued to engage in community concerns, lending his voice to causes supporting education and good citizenship and leaving behind a legacy of measured leadership during a time of rapid change.
