William P. Barksdale

William P. Barksdale, born in 1865, became a familiar figure at St. John's Episcopal Church, where he served with devotion and helped nurture the parish's role in the city's life.

He balanced his commitments to faith with generous support for civic endeavors, always ready to lend a hand to a friend or to take part in a volunteer effort, and his calm counsel is still remembered by the families he guided; St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery holds his remains.
