Biography
William Procter, who emigrated from England in the early 19th century, built an entrepreneurial career in Cincinnati that led to the creation of one of America’s most enduring family businesses. His partnership with fellow candle maker James Gamble combined skill and vision, laying the foundation for Procter & Gamble.
