Biography

Born in 1851, William Robertson McKenney matured during the rebuilding years after the Civil War and became known to his circle for steadying conversations, reliable service to neighbors, and a thoughtful approach to civic duty that helped keep traditions alive while welcoming new energy.

He spent his later decades in Blandford’s neighborhood, quietly encouraging community gatherings and unseen labors, and in 1916 he was buried at Blandford Cemetery where visitors may still honor a lifelong devotion to steadiness and care.
