Biography

William S. Hamilton, son of Alexander Hamilton, took his restless energy Westward, becoming a pioneer in the Illinois and Wisconsin territories who advocated for responsible settlements and the careful exploration of new mineral lands.

He later traveled to California, where his life among early prospecting communities ended in Sacramento Historic City Cemetery, a testament to the frontier paths he chose.
