William Singleton Young

Biography

William Singleton Young represented Kentucky in the U.S. House of Representatives, bringing the concerns of his neighbors to the nation’s capital even as the young state grew in population and enterprise.

He died in 1827 after years of faithful service and was laid to rest in Elizabethtown City Cemetery, where his commitment to Kentucky’s future endures in local memory.
