Biography

William Warner combined his work as a writer and public servant with a tenure in the United States Senate from 1905 to 1911, where his interest in political economy and morality informed his approach to national debates.

He defended Missouri's place in the Union, promoted progressive improvements in waterways and commerce, and after returning home he continued to reflect on civic life, finally resting at Elmwood Cemetery.
