Biography
William Warren Lowe (1831-1898) answered the call of military service during the Civil War, rising to the rank of colonel and standing beside his men while they navigated the conflict's perils. His colleagues noted his calm under pressure and his insistence on discipline tempered by compassion.
After the war Lowe returned to civilian life and continued to serve his fellow citizens with the same sense of duty, participating in veterans' organizations and local affairs. He rests at Prospect Hill Cemetery, a reminder of the sacrifices made by his generation.
