Biography
William Windom (1827–1891) was a dedicated public servant who represented Minnesota in the U.S. Senate and twice served as Secretary of the Treasury, bringing his Midwestern sensibility to the halls of government and championing fiscal responsibility.
He worked tirelessly to align the nation’s financial policies with its growing commerce, and his memory is honored at Rock Creek Cemetery alongside the many civic leaders of his era.
