William Wirt Culbertson

Biography

William Wirt Culbertson, born in 1835, stood alongside the people of Ashland through decades of rebuilding and growth, always insisting that fairness and hard work be the guiding principles of public life.

Even as new industries brought unfamiliar rhythms, he kept faith with longtime neighbors, and after his death in 1911 he was laid to rest at Ashland Cemetery with the gratitude of many.
